These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Dorset County Water (a division of Rescue Rod Group) and our clients, covering all services and goods provided.
Definitions
- Company refers to Dorset County Water, or any individual(s) acting on its behalf to deliver goods or services.
- Consumer means any natural person acting for purposes outside of their trade, business, or profession.
- Defect refers to any part of the works or services not meeting a recognised and acceptable standard.
- Services means any works or tasks carried out as instructed, whether through direct engagement or formal quotation.
- Terms means the clauses and details in this document, or any supplementary written agreements forming part of the contract.
- We / Us / Our refers to Dorset County Water, a trading name of the Rescue Rod Group.
- You refers to the client or customer instructing or accepting the delivery of services or goods.
The Contract
A contract becomes effective once you agree to these Terms and Conditions and we accept your instruction to proceed.
It is your responsibility to fully understand the services agreed upon before works commence.
Pricing
Prices for goods or services will typically be provided in writing via quotation or based on a pre-agreed schedule of rates.
All prices are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate unless otherwise stated.
Delivery of Service
While we aim to adhere to agreed appointment dates and times, external factors beyond our control (such as weather, emergencies, or resource availability) may cause delays or require rescheduling.
We are committed to delivering all services in a safe, professional, and efficient manner.
Inspection
Upon completion of the works, you are expected to carry out a visual inspection and confirm that all work has been completed to your satisfaction and in line with the agreed scope.
Any concerns or complaints must be submitted in writing within three (3) working days of the completion date.
Payments
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date.
Accepted payment methods include:
- Electronic bank transfer
- Cheque
- Debit or Credit Card
- Cash (by prior arrangement)
Late payments may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated monthly and compounded.
We reserve the right to revoke credit terms at any time.
Payments may not be withheld by way of counterclaim or offset.
We may also offset any amounts owed by us to you against outstanding balances you owe to us.
Risk
Risk for goods and services transfers to you upon practical completion and your acceptance of the work.
Dorset County Water holds no liability for defects in materials supplied by third-party manufacturers; such issues must be addressed with the manufacturer directly.
Title of Goods
All goods and materials remain the property of Dorset County Water until full payment has been received.
We reserve the right to reclaim any unpaid-for items still in your possession.
Liability
Our liability is governed by UK law.
We accept liability for our workmanship only, and only following a formal investigation if a complaint is made.
Warranties or guarantees will be void if third-party interference is identified after the work has been signed off.
General
These Terms and Conditions may be superseded only by written agreement signed by both parties.
No verbal modifications will be recognised.
